EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is widely considered as the 'gold standard' when it comes to the treatment of PTSD.
It has also been proven highly effective for other trauma related issues, as well as helping with depression, anxiety and phobias
Identifying the trigger
We work together to try to identify those past traumas or events that may have led to you feeling the way you do which then causes life to be difficult.
Distorted thinking that leads to problems with self esteem or self confidence are often the result of past trauma.
Sometimes the brain finds it hard to realise that past dangers are no longer present or that beliefs about certain things are not accurate.
Things can be seen differently
Through EMDR therapy, it is possible to see past situations differently, and to have new understandings of events that allow you to feel safer in life or more positively about yourself.
Your previously distorted way of seeing things can be replaced with a new clarity that can allow you to live life free from the negative thoughts about yourself or your situation.
